(Lauren McMillan) Successful Use of Type - Vogue Magazine

Vogue Magazine is a fashion based magazine that keeps everyone up to date with the ever-changing fashion world. They developed and have used the same type face ever since the first edition, and it has yet to be used unsuccessfully. The Vogue type face was designed by Vogue, and used only by Vogue, making it a trademark typeface for the company. The typeface used is a very clean and sophisticated serif font that will never go out of style. It has a very contrasted weight throughout the font, where it is extremely thin on the right side of the "U" and much heavier on the other. If i were to compare it to another typeface, i would use Didot. It has very similar characteristics such as the curvature at the bottom of the leg in the capital "G". Over all it is a beautiful, timeless type face that captures the essence of Vogue Magazine perfectly.
