For Your [Typographic] Information

For Your [Typographic] Information, or fy(t)i, is written mainly by Ilene Strizver with assistance from Allan Haley. The web address is www.itcfonts.com/Ulc/fyti/ (learning from experience, www.itcfonts.com still takes you to their website, but to where you can purchase fonts. That being said, it gives you tons of information on all the fonts you can purchase!) The site is very easy to navigate with “chapter tabs” on the left side of the screen. When you click on one, it list all the subheads under that, as well as displaying them on the page with a brief description of what each section is about. This website teaches the right way to use various type tools such as spacing and kerning and baseline shift. It also discusses various details on styles of fonts and when to use certain fonts and what styles. You can also download a pdf of “trading cards” of various fonts with lots of information. Along with that, this website tells you when to use various punctuation and other helpful hints. This is an excellent resource that could possibly answer any quick question you might have!
