Kinetic Typography - E.Ramirez

Kinetic Typography

Wedding Crashers: The Perfect Girl

After searching through many kinetic type videos, I found this example based on the movie Wedding Crashers. Its use of type placement reflected the ideas and actions of the narrative, spoken by Vince Vaughn.

The bold sans-serif typeface used to represent him was in all capital letters and would vary in weight and style, adjusting itself to the tone of the voice. Several subtle animations give meaning to the text and work together to convey certain moods. The light font used for the female's voice created a great contrast, representing the difference in gender and psyche of these characters.

This was a clever animation and stood out among the sea of bad kinetic type videos, whose text placement was based solely on seemingly random shapes and patterns rather than recreating the idea of the writing.
