Using Grids- McMillan

Aiga.org is a pretty good example of a column grid. It makes the site very consistent and clean in it's design. Column Grids are typically good for discontinuous information which is exactly what they use it for in this example. Some of the items in the columns are text, some are images, and others are a mixture, but it is a very simple way of making a lot of information look organized and easy to read. The gutters are a very consistent space apart throughout the site, giving it a sense of unity. Other websites usually don't have such distinct columns in their grids, but i actually like how obvious the columns are in this website because it takes us back to the basics of design. They also break the column at the top left text box, but it does not bother me because it isn't boxed in like the others. Overall i think this is a great use of Column grids.
