Trey Beahm - Grid Example

My research for a website with a great grid system lead me to creativedepart.com, which I choose to use given how well the grid layout works for this site.

The layout consists of 7 evenly spaced out columns that cascade down the page with each length depending on the information laying within each column, yet of the column widths are exactly the same. Above their is a navigation bar with various links and what not to help maneuver  around the site.

If you click on the news tab in the navigation bar, you are taken to the next area where you find once again a well used grid system. The one changes however depending on how big the browser window is. If you set it to the size shown, the columns once again begin to stack on top of each other. But if you have a large enough computer monitor, you can open the browser wide enough to allow each of the same width size news articles to be alone in their columns.

This grid layout is very effective in my opinion for this site, and the designer allowed the color scheme and typography to all help aid in this success.
